March 31st, 2010 Any ideas on how to get candle wax off a carpet? I have tried the ironing thing but no success.?
Some waxes will actually dye the carpet. If the wax is colored and all of the contaminants were removed from ironing, it is unlikely the remainder of the color can be removed. Sometimes a professional can remove the remaining dye but the odds are pretty low.

I hope you haven’t melted it and allowed it to sink into the backing.
Freezing is the proper method.
Place ice in a plastic food storage bag. Let it set on the spot.
When it is cold enough, you may be able pick some, and then carefully use a comb. Try not to drag too hard on the fibers, this will fray the tips of the pile.
You may be able to pick with your fingers or tweezers, but I stress again, very carefully.
If this is a loop pile, such as Berber, more care is needed.

I saw a commercial yesterday for the H2O mop. Removes candle wax instantly.
